California Street, March 2020
In March 2020, San Francisco officially locked down as the COVID-19 pandemic started to accelerate. A once-bustling downtown screeched to a halt. I walked from my house in the Richmond down California Street to see how people were reacting to the lockdown. The emptiness was haunting and the energy of uncertainty was palpable.
